I never set out to become a female sexaholic. When I was a child, I loved my mother. I thought she was the most beautiful and wonderful woman in the world. I wanted to be like her; she was my Goddess. But while she was looking for my father around the bars, she left us three kids with a neighbour who abused us.
Sexaholics Anonymous is a 12 Step fellowship modelled on Alcoholics Anonymous. The first regular SA meeting was started in in Los Angeles. Some of us were driven to buy or sell sex on the streets, others to have it anonymously in bars or public places. Some of us found ourselves in painful and destructive affairs or consumed by an unhealthy obsession with a particular person or succession of persons. Many of us kept our obsessions to ourselves, resorting to compulsive masturbation, pictures, fetishes, voyeurism, or exhibitionism.
